An InFISAble Proposition

My, my, my… what an interesting change of heart the Democrats have had. I’m talking, of course, about the expansion of FISA. The Foreign Intelligence Security Act that was so maligned by the Left, their media puppets, and every nutrtoot out there. Strangely, the willingness to support this type of surveillance has shifted in the fever swap of the Liberal mind. And I have to ask myself why.

In trying to dissect this amazing turnaround, we must keep two things in mind. One is the results of the 2006 midterm election. We find ourselves witnessing a balance shift in terms of party and political ideology in the House and Senate, often at the detriment of those who are allegedly represented. The second is the rather fervent push to reinstate the “Fairness Doctrine” in a so called attempt to balance political perspective in our country. A doctrine which any citizen with at least two neurons to rub together can see has nothing to do with fairness and everything to do with the stifling of free and opposing speech in this Country.

A glance at recent political diatribe and dogma from the Left gives the lie that the Democrat party wants anything to do with fairness. They seek to limit it in any form not conforming to the party groupthink. We see new definitions of Hate Speech, more PC bullshit and a larger effort to stifle the smaller voice of Conservativism. They try to attack talk radio, blogs, websites supporting conservatives or maligning regressives. All the while championing the hate speech of their true socialist brethren. Thus, I feel ill at ease about the expansion of FISA. Especially as those who seek to destroy our great nation gain greater Mainstream Media influence while filling the pages of their playbooks with the diaries of DKos.

Now, I supported FISA at first and didn’t think such a large stink should have been made over it. I opposed the Dubai Ports deal. I railed against the Shamnesty bill. But this disturbing shift in the balance of power, and the increasing overtness of the Left’s attack on speech beyond their approved viewpoints, set me on knife’s edge. Make no mistake: Should the left gain the White House, though the Socialists railed against it when it was Bush’s faux pas, the very thing they decry will be the bludgeon of Free Speech’s demise. They seek to expand so that they can find whom to try and silence. Is the name Vince Foster ringing any bells? I fear something in the same vein with less lead and contrived suicide plots.

I know that this sounds like a fevered, Leftist rant. But, think about what possible reason the Dhimmicrats would seek to expand this legislation. The point may be moot, as FRED! Will mostly likely gain that fine White House in the District of Columbia. But be wary my friends. Beware Socialist bearing tools for national security.

Remember, they don’t want to be your government; they want to be your nanny.
